Mainstreaming Framework Losses and Damage in the context of Climate Risk Management
The concept of "loss and damage" refers to a category of impact that can not be avoided (unavoidable) even after mitigation and adaptation measures. Loss and damage not only refers to environmental damage but also refers to social and economic damage caused by extreme climate events. At COP 25 2019, a review of the Warsaw International Mechanism for Loss and Damage resulted in a decision to establish a network that serves as a catalyst in providing technical assistance by organizations, agencies, networks and relevant experts for the implementation of a "loss and damage" approach at the local level, national and regional levels in developing countries that are particularly vulnerable to the adverse impacts of climate change.
Through this competition, it is hoped that it will increase the awareness of the youth generation regarding the importance of climate risk management and take initiatives to take action to reduce the potential impacts of losses and damages due to climate change.
